Biography
Maria Eugenia Gimenez Boscov is Full Professor of Geotechnics (Soil Mechanics, Earthworks and Environmental Geotechnics) at the School of Engineering, São Paulo University, Brazil. She teaches in undergraduate and graduate courses of Environmental Engineering and Civil Engineering; participates in teaching, research, and administration coordination committees; and supervises M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses at São Paulo University and other Universities. Her main research efforts are on tropical soils, soil pollution, waste landfills, waste reuse (including mining sterile and tailings), and resilience to disasters, frequently comprising collaborative work with colleagues from other departments or institutions, and experts on other areas of knowledge. She contributes to industry and government through the development of technical standards; lectures in technical societies; technical and scientific consultancy; and representation of the University in governmental technical councils.
