She graduated from the National Technical University of Athens in 1996 and in 2002 obtained her PhD in Environmental Geotechnics from the University of Cambridge, UK, under the supervision of Prof. Kenich Soga. Her thesis was on the migration of DNAPL in layered soil profiles. She is a partner with Castor Ltd, Geotechnical Engineering Consultants who are involved in geotechnical investigations and foundation design for industrial complexes, , dams, marine works, airports and highways.  She is leading the environmental studies team. She has worked in the Netherlands, Norway, West Africa, Albania and Guyana.
